A sweet antique French locket from the early 20th Century featuring a cheerful bird singing upon a branch above a river. It’s set with a red ruby eye and encrusted with twinkling rose cut diamonds. A larger 0.08ct old mine cut diamond is also set off to the right and sparkles bright enough to depict the sun within the scene.
The round locket has been chased with a beautiful border and is all 18ct gold with a lovely patina that has developed with age. The bird, branch and scrolling top are all platinum and detailed with milgrain with further rose cut diamonds lining the top of the piece.
It’s a wonderful antique treasure and opens vertically to reveal original photographs of two young children that have accompanied the piece over the Centuries.
